Scientific and technological innovation is the core element of developing new quality productivity. In order to speed up the creation of global competitive comparative advantages and promote high-quality development with new quality productivity, Zijin Mining formally established the "Central Research Institute" on March 20, which will coordinate and direct the company's R & D resources, and strive to solve a number of key issues related to sustainable development, such as "natural collapse method mining" in ultra-deep and large-scale copper mines.
With the implementation of global layout and internationalization strategy, Zijin Mining urgently needs to establish a new scientific and technological innovation system. In order to integrate the resources of the company's scientific research units, further improve the overall R & D and innovation capabilities, and continuously enhance the core competitiveness, Zijin Mining decided to conduct a comprehensive reform of the scientific research management system and proposed to prepare for the establishment of the Central Research Institute.
It is reported that the Central Research Institute of Zijin Mining started preparations in August 2023 and was formally established after 8 months. It is the commander-in-chief and coordination organization of the company's scientific and technological forces, as well as the company's scientific and technological management platform, the main body of research and development, and the sharing platform of R & D resources. The Academia Sinica and the company's technical committee implement "one set of personnel and two brands", including 12 professional expert advisory committees, as well as research and design units such as the Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, technology companies, design companies, Zijin New Energy and New Materials Design and Research Institute, Zijin Information and Intelligent Control Research Institute, Geological Exploration Institute, etc. At the same time, Academia Sinica will assist in the management of the State Key Laboratory of Low-grade Refractory Gold Resources, the National Mine Safety Technology Innovation Center, Fujian Academician Expert Workstation, and Postdoctoral Research Workstation.
